In the Quiet Misty Morning
I am a crossing guard and every school day at 7:30am I leave my home rain or shine, sleet or snow, foggy or clear. xz

Parade
I like this picture. It captures a moment. I was really excited for the parade and more importantly for Penelope's reaction to the parade. Penelope was totally overstimulated and looked like that most of the parade. She still loved it but it was a lot to take it. That being said, its not really a good picture. I was a test shot I had my mom take for me. When I come home and look at these on my laptop I feel like I am able to pick out what is wrong with them and how they could be better. I like critiquing myself. Is that weird? I am a person that would rather not try than fail at something. I miss out on a lot of life because of this character flaw but by taking pictures I have hope that I will someday succeed.

Tragedy
I accidentally deleted all the good pictures of my child on her 11 month birthday. So here is a noisy blurry disapointing picture. A lesson learned. I guess this is all part of the journey.

HAPPY THANKSGIVINGANNIVERSARY!!!
Today, was Thanksgiving and my parents 27th wedding anniversary. I am thankful for a lot of things this year but their example of love and service to each other is always at the top of my list. I am so blessed to come from a family with parents who love each other so deeply. It shapes my marriage everyday. We took a family wobble up to the top of their mountain after eating a sinful amount of food. My Dad is terrible at posing for a camera. Thankfully, he was making fun of me the entire time resulting in the mischievous glint in his eyes. We crashed a herd of cow's Thanksgiving and had a grand old time.

And don't call him Sir
This is the plastic owl that I received as a gift from a white elephant party. It previously belonged to Art Furler and now dwells upon our bookcase. His name is Major Whoosalot and he did not spend 20 years in the army to be called Sir. Penelope loves him. He has costumes for major holidays and is anxiously awaiting his Santa hat. Sometimes, I try to convince myself that I am not tacky...then I look at my life. The first step is admitting, right?

Bossy Pants
I felt like I learned a lot at my workshop but did not really realize how much until I tried shooting today. I took Penelope outside to take my pictures for the day while I was at my mom's house. Aunt Hannah came out to see what we were doing and unintentionally found herself in a full on photo shoot Luckily, she was looking beautiful, as always, and was more than willing to sitting in the sticker burrs for me. I was full of commands as I tried to get the lighting the way I wanted. I felt 100% more comfortable in manual today. I feel like I am making progress and I am beginning to understand that I am in control of the camera and not the other way around. Basically, I am the boss, of everyone and everything and that's how I like it.

Blinded by the light
I went to my second photography workshop tonight. I don't care if I take the worst pictures in the world for the rest of my life. I love photography! I took a bunch of pictures at the workshop of people but I feel kinda creepy putting them up on a blog they will never see. So, here is one of my test shots. The leaves look like the amber glass my Mom has all over her home. I will try and take an actual picture up tomorrow instead of one that just wants to make you see an optometrist:).

Pilot Episode
I have a problem. I want to have enough money to pay someone to document my family's life thus providing me a wealth of beautiful photos to pass on to future generations. That is probably never going to happen and if it does, those little moments I cherish most will have passed me by to live on only in my scatterbrained mind. So, I got a new camera and I now I gotta get some new skills. Right now, I am know nothing about photography but I am going to give it my all. My friend, Brinn Willis, assigned me to take a picture a day and share it for feedback. She promises this will help me get better. So, help me out! Tell me what you think and will love you forever.
