The past few months have been full of changes for little Penelope. She was potty trained in December, and then weaned and moved out of Mommy and Daddy's bed into her own room and big girl bed. She has done so well and dealt with it like a pro. Here is the very important milestone in everyone's life: The potty picture. She this was the first time she went on the big potty by herself. She climb up, got down, grabbed something to read, then got back up and did her business. I love her.

Penelope plays in the snow 2014
A few weeks ago we had what I have been waiting for forever, SNOW! Penelope was so excited. The snow was super wet so I draped my head in a scarf to protect my camera. We had a lot of fun. It snowed here again last night. I just want to go sledding but alas, I have no hill, no sled, and no one to go with except a little girl with sandwich bags under her mittens to keep her hands dry. Here are a couple of the shots from snowfall #1. Please know that the outfit choice was entirely hers.
Surganovich Family
My sister and her family came to visit. I am always happy to see them because they have a new baby and I am in love with him. Oh little Lincoln, you have your aunt Lauren's heart. They wanted a few family pictures so we went to snap a few at the park down the road. Here are a few of my favorites.
It's been a little while
I have had a crazy last year. We moved, lived without internet access for quite a while and my computers are dying. All this has put a damper on my new found love in photography. I just quit taking pictures for a few months because I was frustrated I that I only have my less than impressive kit lens, a beat up HP computer, and only the software that came with my camera for editing. I just wanted to have everything I dreamed of because that would make my pictures better. Well, even though those things would help have all the equipment in the world will not make me anything more than a noob with no money. So, I started up again. I haven't been able to share really because of the whole internet access problem but I am back and ready to learn! I have been scouring photography tutorials and practicing. I feel like I am finally starting to understand the basics of editing and most importantly, I have my excitement back. It truly is all about the journey and the person you become as you travel through the not so perfect times. Thank you all for taking the time to look and give feedback. I also appreciate any recommendations on where to learn more. It is going to be a great year and I am excited to share it with you!
